Baldwyn High Student Takes Daylong Shadowing Tour at Tupelo Aviation Firm

Baldwyn High School junior Jordan Hougland spent the day shadowing at Universal Asset Management, Inc., in Tupelo. UAM is a global leader in aviation asset management, specializing in the full lifecycle of commercial aircraft.

Hougland described the experience as valuable. He observed how airlines sell aircraft to UAM, which then disassembles or repurposes parts for other aircraft. His day included working in confined spaces, moving heavy parts, removing components, and cataloging items for shipment.

He expressed gratitude for the opportunity, noting the depth of the work involved. Hougland thanked UAM team members and Mr. Will Smith, director of disassembly operations, for allowing him to participate.
