Baldwyn School District Students Host Market Day to Learn Business Skills
Students in Mrs. Demi Roberts’s TAG classes at Baldwyn Elementary School recently wrapped up a unit on money, business, and marketing with a hands-on Market Day event.
During the event, students set up pretend businesses and sold products they created, using a menu, online cash register, and play money. They also calculated sales tax and practiced phone etiquette with customers, according to a district news release.
The students’ products included homemade foods, drinks, 3D printed items, handmade crafts, games, jewelry, and bookmarks. The activity aimed to teach entrepreneurship skills through experiential learning, district officials said.
