Baldwyn School District to Celebrate Black History Month with Lee-Prentiss School Event

The Baldwyn School District will hold its Black History Community & Career Expo on Friday, February 20, at 9 a.m. The event will take place in the Baldwyn High School gym and will include a celebration of the Lee-Prentiss School.

A new historical sign dedicated to Lee-Prentiss School has been installed on the Baldwyn Elementary School campus, where the former school was located, according to district officials.

District officials also announced that Black History Month T-shirts are available for purchase through February 12. Order forms can be found at each school office, and completed orders should be returned by the deadline.

The event aims to honor local history and promote community engagement during Black History Month. Participants are encouraged to celebrate and learn about the legacy of Lee-Prentiss School, a significant institution in the area’s history.
