Baldwyn School District to Celebrate Black History with Lee-Prentiss School Event
The Baldwyn School District is set to host its Black History Community & Career Expo on Friday, Feb. 20, at 9 a.m. The event will be held in the Baldwyn High School gym and will include a celebration of the Lee-Prentiss School’s history.
A new historical sign commemorating the Lee-Prentiss School has been installed on the Baldwyn Elementary School campus, the site of the former school, according to district officials.
Additionally, the district is selling Black History Month T-shirts. Orders are due by Thursday, Feb. 12, with forms available at each school office.
District representatives encouraged community members to participate and to support the event, emphasizing the importance of remembering local history as part of the celebration.
