Baldwyn High School senior Shystin Miller met with Northeast Mississippi Community College welding instructor John Garner to learn about the program Friday.
During the visit, Shystin toured the classroom and spoke with Aidan Stewart, a former Baldwyn graduate now enrolled in the program, according to school officials.
Shystin also applied to join the program, which lasts 12 weeks. He hopes to start in June or September after graduation. The program offers certification upon successful completion, officials said.
The initiative aims to prepare students for careers in welding and related fields, officials added.
