Booneville Begins Ice Storm Fern Recovery Efforts

Booneville officials reported ongoing recovery efforts after the recent ice storm Fern. A contractor meeting was held Monday to coordinate work activities and deployment areas.

Debris removal crews are actively working in Wards 2 and 4, while contracted crews are cutting and removing fallen tree limbs and dangerous hangers from public rights of way in Wards 2 and 3, according to city officials.

As additional hauling trucks come online, residents can expect to see more vehicles in operation. Crews are scheduled to expand their work into other wards on Saturday.

Work also continues near Anderson Elementary School to clear debris and ensure safe access to the area. Mayor Tucker urged residents to place debris at the curb only and keep roadways clear for equipment access. He thanked the community for their patience and support during the recovery process.
