Booneville City Cemetery cleanup underway after ice storm damage

Booneville city crews are actively restoring the cemetery after the area sustained significant damage from the recent ice storm Fern. Fallen limbs and debris covered sections of the cemetery, including around headstones and walkways, according to city officials.

Workers from the City Street Department, Public Property Department, and Work Release crews collaborated to remove limbs and clear debris. Their efforts aim to protect headstones and maintain the grounds’ dignity, officials said.

City officials expressed gratitude for the community’s support and the dedicated teams working to restore the cemetery. The cleanup is part of broader efforts to recover from the storm’s impact on Booneville.
