Booneville Plans Debris Removal Kickoff Meeting on Feb. 23

The City of Booneville has scheduled a debris removal kickoff meeting for Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. at the Prentiss County Agri-Center, located at 2301 N Second Street, Booneville.

The city approved a debris hauling contract with Hughes Construction, with Jody Foster serving as operations manager. Foster can be reached at 601-334-1252 or jfoster@hughesmtg.com, according to city officials.

Two additional firms, ER Assist and Debris Tech, have been contracted to oversee the project. ER Assist will serve as project manager, while Debris Tech will monitor the effort.

All debris hauling sites must be approved by the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality. Obtaining these approvals may take time, officials said.

Local contractors interested in debris hauling are encouraged to contact Jody Foster directly or attend the kickoff meeting. For more information, residents can call Booneville City Hall at 662-728-5601.

Mayor Lori C. Tucker urged community members to participate and stay informed as cleanup efforts proceed.
