The city of Booneville is preparing for winter weather, implementing measures to sustain essential services and public safety, according to officials. Prentiss County Emergency Management Director Bud Lindsey is working closely with local agencies to coordinate efforts.
The Booneville Street Department has been stockpiling salt and slag, inspecting equipment, and readying resources for several days. First responders are secured with Generac generators at the fire and police departments to ensure continuous operations amid power outages.
City officials advise residents to monitor travel conditions and road closures as winter weather approaches. Updates will be posted on the Booneville Facebook page, including information on road and department closures. Designated warming centers will be announced if power outages occur, in partnership with local organizations.
The city has coordinated with schools, hospitals, first responders, and other community partners to address road safety and emergency needs.
