Booneville urges residents to keep utility access clear after winter storm
The Booneville Gas and Water Department has issued a reminder to residents following recent winter storm cleanup efforts. The department asks residents not to stack or pile tree limbs, branches, or debris over water meters, water and sewer drains, or fire hydrants.
Covering these utilities can delay restoration efforts, cause additional damage, or create safety hazards during cleanup, according to department officials. They also emphasized that garbage should not be mixed with yard debris, and all piles must be kept separate.
Residents are encouraged to relocate any piles blocking utility access if possible. If issues are spotted or concerns arise, residents are advised to notify crews on site, as they are available to assist.
The department thanked the community for cooperation, emphasizing that working together will help speed up recovery efforts and improve safety during storm cleanup.
