Booneville residents are reminded that certain waste items are not accepted through Waste Connections curbside collection. These exclusions include radioactive materials, flammable or explosive items, corrosive or toxic substances, biohazard waste, and federally regulated hazardous materials, according to the company.
Hazardous waste such as EPA-identified chemicals, solvents, and industrial toxins are also not permitted in regular trash pickups. Additionally, industrial waste from manufacturing or commercial production, as well as medical waste including sharps and needles, are excluded from curbside service.
Residents are advised that dead animals over 10 pounds are not accepted, although smaller animals processed for consumption are exempt. Household garbage, including food waste and organic material, remains acceptable as long as it follows guidelines to prevent issues.
Items not accepted in curbside collection can be taken to the Prentiss County Landfill, provided they are properly separated and approved. Waste connections officials emphasized that improper disposal may lead to rejection, penalties, or extra fees. The public is encouraged to follow these guidelines to help keep Booneville and Prentiss County clean and safe.
