Applications are now open for the 2026 Spring Citizens Police Academy, open to residents of the Capitol Complex Improvement District, according to the Capitol Police.
Participants will have the opportunity to observe various aspects of police work, including driver simulation training, K-9 demonstrations, forensic crime scene investigations, and ride-alongs with officers, the department said.
The program runs from April 20 to April 28. The deadline to apply is April 15. Space is limited, and interested individuals are encouraged to apply online at dps.ms.gov under the Capitol Police tab.
