City’s Street Department Continues Storm Cleanup Efforts

The city’s Street Department wrapped up work today, including salting roads and removing downed trees, according to a city news update. Crews will continue working Sunday morning, and additional information will be provided as available.

Residents are encouraged to report downed trees or other storm-related incidents by calling 662-416-3956. Officials noted that if more calls come in during the next few hours, response will be prioritized and handled primarily in the morning.

City officials emphasized safety, advising residents to monitor power and water usage, limit travel, and keep phones charged along with flashlights and other emergency supplies. First responders remain prepared to assist residents if needed.

The city asked residents to share updated information on social media and thanked responders and residents for their patience. Mayor Lori Tucker expressed appreciation and asked for prayers for all involved in storm response efforts.
