Community to Celebrate Black History Month with Concert Honoring African American Artists

The Northeast community will host a concert on Feb. 25 in Hines Hall Auditorium to celebrate Black History Month. Titled “Harmonies of Hope: Celebrating Excellence in African American Artistry,” the event features performances by students and fine arts faculty.

The program will include compositions by notable African American musicians such as William Grant Still and Florence B. Price. Organizers say the concert offers an afternoon of music, culture, and recognition of African American contributions to the arts.

The event aims to honor the legacy and impact of African American artistry through powerful musical performances. It begins at 1:35 p.m., providing an opportunity for the community to experience and celebrate cultural excellence.
