Deputy stops vehicle on County Road 4140, finds firearm in possession of convicted felon
Deputy Ethan Hester stopped a vehicle on County Road 4140 on Jan. 13, 2026, according to authorities. During the stop, the deputy discovered a firearm in the vehicle.
The driver, identified as 35-year-old Ryan Conley Coltrain of New Site, was confirmed to be a convicted felon. He was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon by a felon the following day.
Judge Craig Bishop set Coltrain’s bond at $2,500. Investigator Aaron Stolz is overseeing the case and plans to present it to the next Prentiss County Grand Jury, officials said.
