Former Bearcats Lead Phi Theta Kappa Officers at Northeast Community College

Three former students of Northeast Community College, known as Bearcats, are now serving as officers in the college’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter. Tanner Palmer is the student advisor to the Honors in Action Project, Aubrei Weaver is vice president of scholarships, and Gauge DeVaughn also holds the vice president position. Marlee Guin is the chapter’s social media chair.

This week, Palmer, Weaver, and DeVaughn are traveling to Washington, D.C., and Baltimore for a Phi Theta Kappa event. While in Baltimore, Palmer and DeVaughn will compete nationally with their Honors in Action Project, which they have been developing for the past year. Their efforts aim to enhance the chapter’s standing on the national level, according to college officials.

The college expressed pride in the students’ dedication, leadership, and hard work. The students’ participation highlights their continued commitment to academic excellence and community involvement, officials said.
