I-55 Northbound Remains Closed Due to Black Ice

The northbound lanes of Interstate 55 will remain closed until the Mississippi Department of Transportation can clear the right lane, officials said.

Overnight conditions led to additional black ice accumulation on the interstate, creating hazardous driving conditions, according to MDOT.

The department expects to reopen the lane later this morning once it is safe to do so.
