Local School Prepares Students for Upcoming Benchmark Tests

School officials are urging parents and families to support students during the upcoming two weeks, as benchmark testing and state exams approach. The tests serve as the final assessments before state testing begins and aim to simulate testing conditions to help students perform their best, according to school administrators.

Students are encouraged to get adequate sleep, eat healthy breakfasts, arrive on time, and avoid unnecessary absences or early checkouts. School officials also recommend charging iPads the night before to ensure devices are ready for testing, which is scheduled to take place from Feb. 24 to March 6, depending on the grade and class.

Specific testing dates include the ACT for juniors on Feb. 24, benchmark testing for grades 5-8 and 9-12, and STAR testing for first to fourth graders at the elementary school. Administrators emphasized that families’ support can help students perform at their best during this critical testing period.
