Man receives 10-year sentence for meth trafficking in Mississippi
Derrick Lerenzo Denman was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to trafficking methamphetamine in Lee County, Mississippi, on February 12, 2026, according to court records.
Judge John R. White of the Circuit Court sentenced Denman to 40 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with 30 years suspended. Denman will serve the remaining 10 years on a day-for-day basis and will not be eligible for parole or early release.
Upon release, Denman must complete five years of post-release supervision, authorities said. The investigation into Denman’s criminal activities was conducted by the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Megan French, representing the state. District Attorney Jason D. Herring commended the NMNU and MBN for their strategic efforts in investigating narcotics distribution across the district.
