Man sentenced to 20 years for meth trafficking in Mississippi

Adrian Rashad McCoy was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to trafficking methamphetamine, the Pontotoc County District Attorney’s Office announced.

McCoy entered the guilty plea on February 19, 2026, following his indictment by a Pontotoc County grand jury. Judge Kelly Mims sentenced him to serve the full term without the possibility of parole or early release.

The case was investigated by the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Department, Kory Clowers, and the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit. Prosecutors Megan French and Sidra Winter handled the case for the state, according to the district attorney’s office.

Jason D. Herring, district attorney for the First Circuit Court District, prosecuted the case. McCoy will remain in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections for the duration of his sentence.
