Mayor Lori Tucker Launches First Mayor’s Youth Council in Booneville

Booneville Mayor Lori Tucker announced the launch of the city’s first Mayor’s Youth Council for the 2026–2027 school year. The initiative is open to students in ninth through 12th grades interested in leadership, local government, and community service.

The youth council aims to provide students with hands-on leadership experience while serving the community and shaping the future of Booneville, according to a city spokesperson. Participants will have opportunities to explore leadership roles, participate in community projects, and learn about local government processes.

Applications and deadlines will be announced soon, along with scholarship opportunities for selected students, officials said. The city encourages high school students who are ready to serve and lead to get involved in the program, which is designed to foster community engagement and leadership skills.
