MDWFP Chief of Law Enforcement honored as Patriotic Employer
Col. Jerry Carter, chief of law enforcement for the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks, has been named a Patriotic Employer by the Department of Defense Office of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, MDWFP announced Tuesday.
The ESGR Patriotic Employer Award recognizes supervisors and leaders who demonstrate strong support for Guard and Reserve members through flexible policies, understanding military responsibilities, and maintaining open communication, according to the department.
Carter was nominated by Sergeant Major Larry Primeaux of the Army National Guard, who also serves with MDWFP’s Law Enforcement K-9 Unit. The award honors Carter’s support of Primeaux, who serves in the U.S. Armed Forces Guard and Reserve.
