Mississippi announces 2026 youth fishing rodeo schedule

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks has announced the schedule for its 2026 summer Youth Fishing Rodeos. The events are open to anglers 15 and younger and are free to attend.

The rodeos aim to provide young anglers with hands-on fishing experience and outdoor recreation opportunities. The first events are scheduled for March, with multiple locations across the state hosting activities.

On March 7, a rodeo will be held at Roosevelt State Park beginning at 10 a.m. The following week, events are set for March 21 at Turcotte at 8 a.m., and on March 28 at Harrison County Sportsplex and Dunn’s Falls, both starting at 8 a.m., according to the department.
