Mississippi Driver Service Stations Close or Delay Due to Winter Weather
Mississippi’s Northern and Central Driver Service Stations will be closed Thursday as winter weather impacts the state, according to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety.
Southern Region locations will open at 10 a.m., a delay caused by winter conditions, officials said. The department urged residents to monitor updates and follow their social media pages for ongoing information.
Commissioner Sean Tindell encouraged residents to stay home, stay warm, and avoid travel if possible. “Winter weather has impacted central and north Mississippi. We encourage everyone to stay home, stay warm, and avoid travel if possible,” he said. Tindell also thanked first responders and frontline workers for their service during the storm.
The department continues to monitor conditions and prioritize safety amid the winter storm, which has been named winter storm Fern.
