Mississippi holds primary elections, voters decide November ballot
Mississippi residents are casting ballots Tuesday in primary elections to select candidates for the statewide and local races in November. Polls opened at 7 a.m. and will close at 7 p.m., according to election officials.
Voters are encouraged to participate and make their choices known as the state narrows its field of candidates. The results will shape the November general election ballot.
Election officials remind voters to bring proper identification and to check polling locations ahead of time. The primary is a key step in Mississippi’s electoral process, officials said.
