Mississippi hosts Teen CERT Challenge for students

The Mississippi Office of Homeland Security hosted its latest Teen CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) Challenge on Wednesday. More than 360 students from across the state participated in the event.

The event focused on building emergency response skills through hands-on activities, teamwork, and leadership development. Participants learned critical skills needed to serve during emergencies.

Officials expressed pride in seeing the next generation take on roles that could help their communities during crises. The challenge aims to prepare youth for future emergency response efforts, according to the Mississippi Office of Homeland Security.
