Mississippi man sentenced to 12 years for fondling
BOONEVILLE, Miss. — A 44-year-old man was sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to fondling, according to authorities.
Michael Leroy Mace entered his plea on Jan. 8, and Circuit Court Judge Michael P. Mills Jr. sentenced him on Jan. 12. The judge ordered the sentence to be served day for day, with three years suspended and three years of post-release supervision. Mace is not eligible for parole or early release, authorities said.
As part of his sentence, Mace must register as a sex offender. Booneville police investigated the case, and the District Attorney’s Office prosecuted the case. Assistant District Attorney Joel Baldwin represented the state.
The District Attorney’s Office credited Booneville Police Department investigators and staff for their efforts in resolving the case. Jason D. Herring, district attorney for the First Circuit Court District, announced the sentencing.
