Mississippi open for public input on 2026-2027 hunting season proposals
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks has announced proposed hunting season dates and regulations for the 2026-2027 season. The proposals were presented during the department’s March meeting and are now open for public comment.
The proposals include recommended season dates for migratory game birds, updates to private lands alligator hunting seasons, and extensions to turkey hunting seasons through May 3, 2026, on certain Wildlife Management Areas. The department encourages hunters and stakeholders to review the proposals and provide feedback.
Public comments will be accepted for 30 days. Interested individuals can view the proposed season dates and submit their comments online at the department’s website.
