Mississippi opens applications for Pelahatchie Bay alligator season

Mississippi wildlife officials announced that applications for the Pelahatchie Bay alligator season will open Monday, Feb. 2, and close Friday, Feb. 13.

The applications will be entered into a random drawing for permits to hunt during the season. Unlike the regular alligator season, the Pelahatchie Bay hunt requires two applicants. Both must complete the application and, if drawn, hunt together in the same party.

To qualify, applicants must be Mississippi residents and at least 16 years old at the time of application. Nonresidents with a Mississippi Lifetime License are also eligible.
