Mississippi Outdoors Podcast Features Malcolm Reed of Killer Hogs

Malcolm Reed, founder of Killer Hogs and host of How to BBQ Right, appeared on the Mississippi Outdoors Podcast to share his journey in the barbecue world. Reed explained how he started his brand from a trailer in Southaven and his wife’s kitchen bowls.

Reed detailed his early days competing in barbecue contests around Memphis, taking a leap of faith with six months of severance pay, and making seasoning by hand to sell from his house. His products now ship across the country, he said.

The episode also covers Reed’s 140-acre farm in Rankin County, his Buck Junkie channel, and his wild game cooking. He described a bear shank dish served over cheesy shrimp and grits, which he said tasted like the best beef pot roast he ever had.
