Mississippi wildlife agency receives second pig trap system for Nanih Waiya WMA

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks announced the donation of a second Pig Brig Net trap system for Nanih Waiya Wildlife Management Area. The donation came from Outdoor Neshoba, supporting ongoing trapping efforts across the state’s WMAs.

Net trap systems are lightweight, passive traps that do not require cell service to operate. This feature makes them useful in remote areas with poor cell coverage, such as Nanih Waiya WMA. The traps allow MDWFP to expand trapping efforts into areas where larger, metal traps are difficult or impossible to transport.

MDWFP expressed gratitude to Outdoor Neshoba for their continued contributions and dedication to wild hog management in Mississippi.
