Students at Northeast Mississippi Community College gathered at the Black Student Union for a Galentine’s celebration focused on fellowship and empowerment.

The event included activities such as bedazzling and socializing, with an emphasis on supporting one another. College officials said the gathering aimed to strengthen friendships and promote mental health among female students.

Creating safe spaces where young women feel seen, valued, and encouraged is a priority for the college, according to a college spokesperson. The event highlights the importance of community and support among students, which the college calls the “Tiger way.”
