Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department arrests suspect in thefts involving vehicles and firearms
The Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department responded to two reports of thefts involving stolen vehicles and firearms, according to department officials.
In the first incident, deputies were notified of a stolen vehicle, a firearm, and additional items taken from a residence on County Road 5051. The second report involved the theft of two firearms from a home on County Road 7420.
Investigators identified Daniel Brent Baker, 30, of Booneville, as a suspect. He was charged with felony taking of a motor vehicle, grand larceny, and petit larceny. Authorities recovered the stolen vehicle and several stolen items during the investigation.
Investigator Torie Jumper and Investigator Aaron Stolz led the case. Justice Court Judge Ray Hall set Baker’s bond at $75,000 on the felony charges. The case will be presented to a Prentiss County grand jury by Investigator Jumper.
Assisting in the investigation were Investigator Kolby Knight and deputies Ray Jennings, Dennis Peeks, and Josh Brumley, according to the sheriff’s department.
