The Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department served breakfast to Mississippi National Guard members deployed to the area to assist with recovery efforts following a winter ice storm, according to a department post.
Department staff and inmate workers prepared and served the meals over two mornings, aiming to make the Guardsmen feel welcome, the post said. The department also expressed gratitude to the donor who provided the food for the meals.
Officials did not specify the number of Guardsmen or detail the extent of storm damage but highlighted the department’s efforts to support the response effort.
