Siemens Energy is planning a major expansion in Rankin County, Mississippi, with a $300 million investment, officials announced Thursday.
The project is expected to create up to 300 advanced manufacturing jobs in the region, boosting the local economy. The announcement comes as the state continues recovery efforts from recent severe winter storms.
While recovery efforts remain a priority, officials from the Mississippi Development Authority emphasized the importance of economic growth. Bill Cork, a representative of the authority, highlighted the company’s commitment to building Mississippi’s momentum despite challenges.
“This investment demonstrates confidence in Mississippi’s workforce and economic potential,” Cork said. “We remain focused on creating opportunities that will benefit our communities for years to come.”
