Southwest beats Northeast 81-74 in regional basketball

Southwest defeated Northeast Mississippi Community College 81-74 in the regional basketball tournament, according to tournament officials.

Northeast kept the game close throughout but was ultimately eliminated from the tournament. Buddy Spearman scored a career-high 25 points in his freshman season for Northeast, the school said.

The game marked the end of Northeast’s basketball season. Southwest advances in the tournament, while Northeast’s players and coaches prepare for next year.
