Authorities are advising drivers on Interstate 55 north of Batesville and Interstate 22 north of Lake Center to turn around immediately. Road crews are working to remove stranded vehicles from these interstates.
Officials say the roadways are in extremely dangerous condition. They warn that other state highways and county roads may also pose similar risks.
Travelers are urged to only drive in North Mississippi if necessary and to exercise extreme caution if they must travel. There are no reports of injuries at this time.
