FEMA offers aid to Mississippi residents impacted by winter storms
Mississippi residents in 36 counties affected by winter storms from Jan. 23 to Jan. 27 may be eligible for Federal Emergency Management Agency assistance, according to FEMA.
Individuals can apply for aid through three methods: online at DisasterAssistance.gov, by calling 800-621-FEMA (3362), or via the free FEMA app.
Basic eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship or qualified status, identity verification with a Social Security number or accepted documents, proof of home ownership or occupancy, and unmet needs not covered by insurance.
FEMA encourages affected residents to apply promptly if their homes or property were impacted, to access potential support during recovery.
