International Paper breaks ground on new Mississippi facility

International Paper has started construction on a new manufacturing facility in Mississippi, two months after announcing a $225 million investment in the project.

The company held a groundbreaking ceremony for the 470,000-square-foot plant, which is expected to create numerous jobs in the region, according to a news release.

Mississippi officials and company representatives attended the event, highlighting the state’s appeal to large corporations seeking to expand quickly and build at scale.

International Paper’s investment underscores its commitment to growth in the region, the release said.
