Prentiss County and Booneville city officials toured Marathon Cheese Corporation’s facility Tuesday, observing the company’s latest expansion. The visit focused on the newly installed slicing line, which is the centerpiece of the expansion announcement.
The new slicing line represents a multimillion-dollar investment by the company. This year, the facility is expected to process more than 40 million pounds of cheese, according to company officials.
Marathon Cheese has been operating successfully for over six decades. Officials expressed optimism about the company’s ongoing commitment to the community and its plans to continue doing business for many more years.
