Mississippi conservationist receives Firebird Award from National Bobwhite & Grassland Initiative

Rick Hamrick of Mississippi has received the Firebird Award from the National Bobwhite & Grassland Initiative, the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks announced.

The award recognizes individuals or groups for outstanding achievements in restoring bobwhite quail populations in their states. Hamrick’s dedication to habitat management and wildlife stewardship has contributed to efforts to restore the species across Mississippi, according to MDWFP.
