Mississippi faces enhanced risk of severe storms, including damaging winds and tornadoes

Severe weather is expected to impact parts of Mississippi on Thursday, prompting warnings from meteorologists. An enhanced risk, categorized as Level 3 of 5, has been issued for certain areas, indicating a heightened threat of severe storms.

The National Weather Service warns residents to prepare for damaging winds reaching up to 70 mph, large hail up to golf ball size, and the potential for tornadoes. Forecasters noted that a strong tornado cannot be ruled out in the affected regions.

Officials recommend that residents stay weather-aware throughout the day, have multiple ways to receive emergency alerts, and know their safe locations in case warnings are issued. Local authorities advise being vigilant and prepared for rapidly changing weather conditions.
