Mississippi opens largest biomass plant in the world

Lowndes County, Mississippi, celebrated the opening of SDI Biocarbon Solutions’ new $300 million facility, which officials say is the largest biomass production plant in the world.

Governor Tate Reeves attended the ceremony, highlighting the plant’s role in revolutionizing American steel production and strengthening Mississippi’s manufacturing sector.

Reeves called the project a major win for the state and emphasized its significance in positioning Mississippi as a national manufacturing leader.
