High school seniors can now begin completing the 2027–28 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), ahead of its official October 1 start date, according to federal officials.
Early access allows students and families additional time to address questions and complete the application process. Students can access the FAFSA through the Federal Student Aid FAFSA Support page or by logging into their FSA Student Dashboard, the Department of Education said.
Students seeking assistance can schedule appointments with Get2College through its website or the Woodward Hines Education Foundation. A reminder for Mississippians: the Mississippi Affordable College Preparation Program (MAAPP) opens October 1, and students who file early will need to complete MAAPP once it opens to be considered for state financial aid, officials added.
