Schools in Prentiss County releasing early due to threat of severe weather

The threat of severe weather is causing schools in Prentiss County to dismiss early.

There is a possibility of damaging winds, hail and isolated tornadoes today

From the NWS:

There is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms across portions of North Central and Northeast Mississippi this afternoon into this evening.

Damaging winds is the primary severe weather threat along with secondary threats of large hail and a few tornadoes. Localized heavy rainfall is also possible.

From all schools in the county:

Due to the threat of inclement weather, schools will dismiss at 1pm today, Wednesday, February 5.
