Mississippi opens spring squirrel season today, closes June 1

The spring squirrel hunting season in Mississippi begins today and will run through June 1, according to the state Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.

Hunters can access extensive public land opportunities through Wildlife Management Areas, National Wildlife Refuges, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lands, the department said.
