Alligator hunters reminded of permit deadlines in Mississippi
Mississippi wildlife officials have issued reminders for alligator hunters participating in the upcoming season. Hunters selected in the public waters draw must purchase their alligator possession permit by June 30, 2026, according to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.
Hunters who wish to opt out of this year’s season need only refrain from purchasing their permits before the sales window closes. Private land alligator permit applications will close on July 1, 2026.
The private lands season is scheduled to run from noon on August 28 to 6 a.m. on September 21. Hunters interested in applying can find more information and application details on the departmentās website at mdwfp.com.
