Applications Open for 2026 WMA Waterfowl Draw Hunts in Mississippi

Mississippi wildlife officials announced that applications are now open for the 2026 Waterfowl Management Area draw hunts. The application period will close on October 15, 2026, according to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.

To apply, hunters must log into the MDWFP License System via the department’s website or mobile app. Applicants without an account need to create one. A WMA permit is required to participate in the draw hunts, and hunters can add one to their cart if they do not already have one.

Once logged in, applicants should navigate to the Draw Opportunities tab within the license catalog. They can then scroll to their preferred hunt opportunities and select “Add to Cart.” Applying is free of charge.

Hunters must choose their preferred dates and WMAs, ranking their choices from top priority to others. After making selections, they should add them to their cart, review their choices, and complete the transaction by clicking “Complete Transaction.”

After submitting an application, hunters will receive an email confirmation and an inbox notification from the department. More information and the application portal are available on the MDWFP website.
