Eighteen residents of the Capitol Complex Improvement District (CCID) graduated from the Capitol Police’s April 2026 Citizens’ Academy, according to a news release.
The eight-day academy offers participants a comprehensive look at the operations of Capitol Police. It aims to deepen understanding of officers’ daily work and promote community involvement, the release stated.
The program is designed to encourage ongoing conversations, strengthen relationships, and increase community engagement with law enforcement, officials said.
The academy is part of the department’s efforts to foster transparency and collaboration with the community it serves.
