City reviews sewer project plans ahead of upcoming grant application

The city held a planning meeting to review the application process for upcoming sewer infrastructure projects funded through the Community Development Block Grant program.

Attendees included Mayor L. Tucker, Alderman Jeff Williams, NEMPDD Economic Development Coordinator Ginger Green, Kent Geno, members of the CCE team, and Sewer Department Head Paul Carpenter, according to city officials.

The group discussed project priorities, infrastructure needs, and key components of the grant application. The efforts reflect a focus on strengthening infrastructure, supporting growth, and improving residents’ quality of life.

City officials emphasized that investing in sewer system upgrades is vital for sustainable development and long-term community success. A public hearing on the project is scheduled for May 18 at 11 a.m. in the city hall board room.
